Ever since we were married we have pretty much worked evening schedules. This allowed us to accommodate seminary life, and since Rob still has the same job we are still at it. Because of this schedule, we pretty much never eat dinner together. I think our only dinner nights are Saturdays and Sundays. Well, what do you do when you cannot have dinner as a family? You make a big deal out of breakfast. And really, is there a better meal in the day? It has been fun to experiment with a lot of breakfast ideas over the years. We almost always cook this meal together which is even more fun. Our latest new dish to try together was this quiche. We found both recipes on allrecipes.com (my all-time favorite recipe spot). It was soooooo good. I especially recommend the crust which consisted of flour, canola oil, and ice water. Who knew?
So, any other big breakfast fans out there?

definitely looks yummy! Well, I almost never make a big breakfast, but we FREQUENTLY eat breakfast for dinner, including quiches! do you have a link for this one?
Yes we LOVE breakfast. What a neat waht to take advantage of the different schedule. good idea to keep for future if ours ever change tot hat. :) Richard makes GREAT egg sandwiches. :)
Kelly - the pie crust is "pie crust III" on allrecipes and the quiche...sad story - I can't find the exact one we used. I tried the other day to use a different one. It was pretty good. It's called "country quiche" and I just altered some of the ingredients for what we like to have in our quiche.
Yum! We do not eat big breakfasts, but we love breakfast food! One of our favorites is Baked Oatmeal--I am not a big fan of oatmeal, but I love this recipe that I got from Nina :)
Oooooh Stephanie, I would love to have that recipe. It sounds great!
During seminary lunch was the BIG deal meal for us! Such fun memories of daddy rushing home and all of us relaxing for a bit around the lunch table...
we are HUGE breakfast fans here! With 4 big boy metabolism's to keep up with I find that if I skimp on breakfast...I am running back and forth for snacks all day! Quiche's are a fabulous and easy make ahead meal (and very freezer friendly:) And I too can attest that baked oatmeal is the way to go when making oatmeal for a crowd...as I do each morning:) I adapted the recipe Nina gave me since I was always having to skimp on the ingredients...and I couldn't bear to use as much sugar as it called for!lol I'll try to post the recipe in the next week so you can give it a try.
